This January at the NAMM show, Valeton shared the GP-5, a mini-format pedal they had been working on that included all of the staple ingredients to a guitar signal chain, but also included an integration allowing them to use .nam files for the pedal's amp effect block. After much anticipation, the pedal is now for sale at Anderton's in the UK--though, as of my writing this, it seems that they sold out of their initial batch; I'm also not sure if or where they're available in the US--let me know! But, with these now getting into the hands of guitarists, I think it's about time this gets a mention on my blog.

I had a brief chance to play the pedal at the NAMM show. My understanding is that Valeton is using the same SnapTone modeling approach used in the Sonicake Pocket Master, so I expect a similar experience using NAM on this to that. Anderton's also made a video with some impressions from the show floor back in January, and they released an in-studio rundown of the pedal here:
Personally, I think there's something quite charming about mini-format pedals, though they seem to really have come into vogue after I stopped really being a pedalboard-centric player myself. The shape (and price--79..99 GBP above) really make me feel like this could squeeze in on a pedalboard. I'm excited to see Valeton release this, and I'm also excited to see how folks find it.
Enjoy!
